This book was written as a reaction to the void that exists in contemporary make-up texts. In my opinion, most make-up books are entirely too labor intense and unduly complicated, making make-up application just another joyless job. For the woman on the go with limited time, the instructions in these texts only add to the demand on her time.
There is however an easier way to apply make-up that is tried, true, and efficient. Within the pages of this guide, you will discover easy to follow instructions and corresponding photographs which illustrates make-up techiques that will produce a professional outcome in a fraction of the time.
It is my desire to share the knowledge I have gained during my career working with women of all ages and skin tones.
About the Author
I have been a make-up artist, facialist, and hairstylist origionally from Clifton N.J. Throughout the years I have under taken numerous commercial jobs that consisted of make-up, hairstyling, wardrobe styling, and casting. Today I own my own day spa “Crisann the Spa”, located in Verona New Jersey. My credits include: Sally Jessy Raphael Show, E!TV The making of a Supermodel for Elite modeling agency, Naomi Judd; Kim Zimmer, Guiding Light soap opera;Dixie Chicks; Phil Driscoll; a classical hymns album cover, Gods will for the Single Christian, models from Intermedia modeling agency, Houston Texas, Neil Hamil modeling agency, Houston Texas; Glen Davis, Astros baseball commercial Houston Oilers calendar, I was awarded a plaque for The Most Outstanding Contestant Make-up for the Texas Beauty Pageant System; Sammy awards; several covers for Houston Bride Magazine. I also formulated products for Max Factor. In addition I am in the process of developing my own make-up line.

As a facial plastic surgeon and as director of Manhattan Facial Plastic Surgery, I am in the business of making people beautiful. Beauty, however, extends beyond surgery. Crisann has provided important complimentary services before and after surgery. She is a world renowned eyebrow artist and sculpts the eyebrow hair after eyelid surgery to bring out the natural beauty in the eye after the redundant skin or fat is removed. She also treats the skin before and after surgery, providing massage lymphatic drainage to decrease swelling after surgery, camouflage makeup to hide bruising and allow the patient to recover quicker and return to their normal activities sooner with less down time. She has a talent for making the patients look presentable quickly after surgery which may include makeup, microdermabrasion, skin care, eyebrow sculpting and beauty advice.

She is also a talented beauty consultant with years of experience and is able to advise the patient on their needs and refers them to the appropriate experts for further care, whether it is a skin condition that requires a dermatologist, saggy eyebrows or jowls that require a plastic surgeon, a large nose in a young woman which is not proportionate to her face, etc.
Crisann has had a large list of celebrity clients in many states which she cares for and they travel great distances to see her. In my New York practice, I have had international models and celebrity patients which she has worked on and who are on TV regularly. I feel her assets in the beauty business both as a makeup artist and consultant are an integral part of my complete patient care.
